Established in 1875 by performer, politician and entrepreneur George Coppin, the renewed Continental Sorrento brings a taste of Europe’s top summer destinations to the coastline of the picturesque Mornington Peninsula. Operated by luxury travel behemoth IHG Hotels and Resorts with design direction by Woods Bagot, the 5-star resort builds on the existing heritage building with a 1930s addition and four new buildings to complete the revitalised precinct.
The 145-year-old hotel features 108 Mediterranean-inspired guest rooms. Offering sweeping water views and aspects of the Sorrento skyline, the suites allow you to completely unwind in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula.
The comprehensive project hosts a plethora of opportunities across hotel suites, a day spa, a bathhouse, casual and fine dining destinations, event spaces and a speakeasy lounge across a 20,000 sqm site.
An amazing collaboration between JRF, Woods Bagot and the client, IHG Hotels. We are very proud of this project, years in the making. We partnered with local manufacturers and our European brand partners to procure, source and manufacture every piece of furniture you’ll see or sit on at The Conti.
We are continuously inspired by Woods Bagot and their craft. The team at Woods Bagot worked seamlessly with us and our expertise to ensure all products were fit for purpose, achieved the aesthetic intent and met the client’s expectations.
Thank you to our beautiful team who worked tirelessly on this project, and to our partners Woods Bagot & IHG Hotels.
