Building on the popular and critical success of the original Housemuseum, a major extension to the Housemuseum opened in March this year, the Housemuseum Galleries. From small beginnings in 1990 the Lyon Collection has grown into one of the largest collections of its type in the country, representing more than sixty emerging and established Australian artists.
Last Thursday we invited our close clients and friends to indulge in a night filled with inspiration, art and architecture. In conceiving this event, we made sure to embrace our newly articulated JRF raison d’être of “inspired people, inspired solutions”. Corbett and Yueji Lyon generously opened their home for private night tours, taking us through their personal collections and vision for the Housemuseum. The night was also in celebration of their latest exhibition, ‘In Full View’ which featured works that have been moved out of the home and into the Galleries. They have been carefully selected to celebrate the diversity and depth in the Collection.
Upon our private tour of the Housemuseum, Corbett Lyon also shed light on something that has connected JRF and the Lyon family for many years. Corbett’s grandfather (well-known architect, Leslie Perrott) and James (Jimmy) Richardson were the very best of friends and collaborated on many well-known hotels in the early 1900s. We love a small world story!
Thank you to everyone who joined us.
