Thomas Feichtner is an internationally recognised product designer. He was born in Vitoria, Brazil and grew up in Austria. He studied industrial design at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz. After finishing his studies in 1997, Thomas opened his own studio where he has designed products for international brands such as Swarovski, Laufen, Bene, Adidas, Head, Absolut, Augarten Porzellanmanufaktur, J&L Lobmeyr, Neue Wiener Werkstätten, TON, Carl Mertens, Vitra, Thonet and FSB. Thomas seeks to follow an independent working style remote from globalisation and mass production, aiming to provide a specialness and uniqueness to his designs. Thomas is a Professor of Industrial Design at the College of Arts in the German town of Kiel and in 2011, he won the Austrian National Design Award.
